Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates wins big at the 2022 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards

Press Release

October 13, 2022

PropertyGuru Philippines awards Aboitiz InfraCapital with five awards from the 2022 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, including the Best Industrial Developer award the company won for the second year in a row.

Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) Economic Estates, the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, bagged five (5) distinctions at the recently-concluded 10th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards. Southeast Asian property technology company PropertyGuru Group awarded AIC one of the top plums of the night–the “Best Industrial Developer”--and the “Special Recognition in Sustainable Design and Construction” award for its efforts in pushing forward sustainability in its developments.

AIC’s LIMA Estate, on the other hand, received three distinctions–the “Best Industrial Development” and “Best Green Development” awards– and its LIMA Central Business District (LIMA CBD) was awarded the “Best CBD Development” for 2022.

AIC bagged–for two years in a row–the highly-coveted “Best Industrial Developer” and the “Special Recognition in Sustainable Design and Construction”, in acknowledgment of the company’s commitment to developing smart and sustainable next-generation developments. AIC’s recent achievements and milestones–including LIMA Estate’s recent BERDE 5-Star District Certification, the launch of LIMA Office Park and Commercial lots within the LIMA CBD, and the expansions in both the LIMA and the West Cebu Estate–are valuable proofs of the company’s growth and development, and of its tireless commitment to sustainability.

Hailed as this year’s “Best Industrial Development” and “Best Green Development”, AIC’s LIMA Estate–the country’s best-selling and largest privately owned industrial-anchored estate–has been recognized for its features that create high-quality living and working environments. Backed by green features incorporated in its design and construction, LIMA Estate operates with a fully-integrated ecosystem, allowing for a smart and sustainable development. The Estate is currently, home to 140 locators, over 62,000 employees, 2,000 households, a four-star hotel, and 167 shops located in its mall establishments.

Within the LIMA Estate sits LIMA CBD, which received recognition as the “Best Central Business District”. Being Batangas’ first master-planned CBD, it is now quickly becoming the center of commerce in the province. Despite LIMA Estate being industrial-anchored, LIMA CBD has since catered to a rapidly growing population in the area and is one of AIC’s responses to the increasing demand for businesses expanding outside of Metro Manila. The 30-hectare commercial district currently houses two commercial mall establishments and is complemented by lifestyle, sports amenities, and a public transport terminal, connected through a network of open spaces accessible to a pedestrian-centered community.

Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, Head of Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates and President of LIMA Land said that these recognitions are testaments to the company’s legacy and commitment to building the Philippines’ reputation as a major attractive investment destination in the SEA and Asia-Pacific regions.

“We at AIC are delighted to be recognized by the judges and organizers as the Best Industrial Developer–and for two successive years. This achievement – as well as the recognitions that LIMA Estate and LIMA CBD received – serves as an inspiration to work more diligently as we work towards sustainability while simultaneously enabling businesses and uplifting communities in the Philippines,” said Fernandez de Mesa.

AIC’s long-standing partnership and engagement with Singapore-based consultancy firm Surbana Jurong ensure sustainability in all its current and future projects, putting AIC at the forefront of smart and sustainable industrial estate development amongst industrial powerhouses in the country.

“Our best-in-class estate development and operations–guided by our exceptional leaders, experts, and employees – prompt us to sustain, develop and implement initiatives and projects founded on innovation and sustainability. All these as we collectively aim to address and respond to the ever-transforming needs of the market and the communities we serve. We are excited to expand our footprint further and introduce new product lines, smart city features, and sustainability programs that will reinforce our numerous commitments as a good corporate citizen,” Fernandez de Mesa added.

Considered the most sought-after real estate industry honors, and dubbed as the Gold Standard in Asian real estate, the PropertyGuru Awards is the leading real estate awards program that recognizes the best projects, designs, and innovations in the industry. In its tenth year in the Philippines, the program is paneled by an independent set of judges including industry experts in green infrastructure, sustainable development, real estate consultancy, and architecture and design. HLB, a global network of independent advisory and accounting firms, is the official supervisor of the awards’ judging process.
