A model for regional gateways

Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) received last November 2024 the notice of award to upgrade, operate, and maintain Bohol-Panglao International Airport in Panglao, Bohol, with an official turnover scheduled in June 2025.

This is the second successful airport PPP project awarded by the government to AIC this year via an unsolicited bid after Laguindingan International Airport.

Under the P4.53-billion concession agreement, AIC will undertake the airport's development and modernization over a 30-year period after the official turnover in June 2025.

Expansion plans will be undertaken in two phases, increasing the airport's design capacity from the current 2 million people per annum (mppa) to 2.5 mppa for the first phase, and up to 3.9 mppa once traffic targets are reached.

Once traffic targets are reached, terminal expansion and modernization of facilities will then commence.
